The SAFAR (Software Architecture for Agricultural Robots) system was transferred from simulation to the real world successfully. The new hardware services allowed to run the existing control services (until now tested in the simulator) in a real vehicle without any modification.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1>First tests of SAFAR in real vehicles!</h1>
<p>The <a href="http://www.mobotsoft.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=52">SAFAR</a> (Software Architecture for Agricultural Robots) system was transferred from simulation to the real world successfully. The new hardware services allowed to run the existing control services (until now tested in the simulator) in a real vehicle without any modification. </p>

<p>The platform used is &#8216;TOMI&#8217;, a modified <a href="http://www.turftrooper.co.uk/" target="_blank">Turf Trooper</a> grass cutter from <a href="http://www.autoguide.co.uk/" target="_blank">Autoguide Ltd</a>. The system that controls sensors and actuators making the vehicle autonomous was developed by <a href="http://www.solutionsforresearch.co.uk/" target="_blank">Solutions for Research LTd</a>.</p>
